At Turn to Dance, we like to put pupils forward for exams annually. These exams are with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD). This is a great experience for the children, a chance to put their hard work into practice, dress-up & show off their dancing skills.
“NATD aims to promote the enjoyment and knowledge of a variety of dance genres through our teachers’ passion and commitment to the art form. It offers an extensive range of dance forms with a comprehensive range of carefully developed graded syllabi for the amateur and professional. The aim of all our examinations is to encourage a positive approach to achievement and strive for the development of each individual to their maximum potential”
An opportunity to dress-up, show off your dancing skills, and most of all let your hair down and socialise. Also, a chance to give out any medals and certificates with a big audience. The children love the chance to dance in front of their grown-ups, and often like to put on a show before the presentation begins.
Those who have taken exams, go on to have opportunities to enter national competitions. We take as many older children as we can to these events when possible.
Both of my children attend ‘Turn to Dance’ lessons and completely love it! It’s been great for their confidence, co-ordination and dance ability but most of all it’s great fun, my children always look forward to the lessons. Both children have taken exams which are an excellent experience and achievement. Leanne is so encouraging and patient, she really brings out the best in each child and my children love her!
The comp inspired me to carry on with dancing and try to perfect my dancing whilst having fun
